Halloween

When I went trick or treating, it was raining. It was not fun because all my feet were wet. I liked going because we got lots of candy. Then we went back to micheals house and played fun games. When we went trick or treating we were about 10. It was awsome.

C.Q.S.B Cross Country Run

On October 5th, there was the cross country run. We runners were practicing and waiting for that moment since last years cross country run. Pre-mosquito girls went first at 10:00. Followed by the pre- mosquito boys at 10:30. Then high school ran. Then came the turn of the adults for the famous ford cup at 11:00. The mosquito girls ran after the ford cup at 11:30. Finally, the mosquito ran the last race at 11:40.

When the time of the banner that everybody was waiting for came, everybody went to the stage of prizes. The guy who was telling the banners at the end arrived. He announced the medals. We holland got 3 medals out of 15. The guy was ready to announce the banners as he took his microphone. He announced that St. Foy won the pre-mosquito girl banner. Everest won the pre-mosquito boy banner. Holland bring back the mosquito girls banner home. St. Vincent won the mosquito boy banner and st. Vincent won the 18th edition Ford cup.

After all, we had a nice morning at the cross country run.  That was my last cross country run here at Holland but I had fun running for holland.

Camp Keno activities

I am so lucky to be in grade 6 because during the year were going to do cool and amazing activities first there is robotics it's an interesting project because you can invent your own robots and then present it in a competition.

What I am waiting with impatient is the end of the year activity and where going to go to Camp Keno were going to stay there for 3 days and also sleep there. What I like about this end of the year activity is that it's in the nature and that means we will probably see animals, also the activities that we're probably going to play over there is kayak and I also think that we're going to swim in the lake and I will like it because it's like a big voyage:)

Government

I like learning about how the Govrenment work and how they make the laws for everybody in the city or couthry or even the province. I can't wait till we go to the ( Martello Tower) I'm sure I will love the tripnext week. If I had never learned about the Government I would had never know how I would work, and without it I could had never know voting would had work.

Grade 6 Grand Prix Cycliste

It was really fun when the grade 6 students went to Grand Prix Cycliste du Québec because first we could see the cyclists. They were really amazing and really fast. We could barely see their face when they were on their bike. Also it was fun because we could see our friends from the other class that we see less. We would just sit and talk about what we have done and what was new. It was really fun. The animations were cool. We could go in front and do challenges or workouts. The challenges with the bikes were cool too. The boys were playing football against another school and the girls were their cheerleaders it was pretty funny. That was a great outing and I wish we have other ones as fun as that one!

Grade six student council

I think that this year's student council was a very good Idea. Each of our classes chose two students to become a part of student council a bit later in the month we elected a student council president
( Isabel Zuniga ) but first of all we, all the school voted for the 3 girls that wanted to become president.
The student council kids will help prepare the holland Halloween Dance and a lot more

iPads in grade six

In grade six, we all have our very own iPad. We use them to learn, to do quizzes and etc..  We try out apps, and some are really useful. The apps that we use the most are edmodo and notability. We like using the iPads to learn, it's easier and faster to write. We have to be really careful to not drop it or break it some way, because these iPads cost a lot of money and that money comes from our school. So far, no iPad has been dropped or broken. The only problem so far is the Wi-Fi, we get kicked off. Maybe it's because too many iPads are on the same Wi-Fi. iPads are awesome!  Written by: Laurie

Le Grand Prix Cycliste

In the beginning of the year 6BB and 6B hopped on a bus and wen to Le Grand Prix Cycliste. When we arrived, it was wam everybody were very very hot. It was so fun to hangout with friends and to be outside on a sunny day. The bikers I found brave to bike for hours and hours on a not very comfortable seat. I personally also thought it would of been crazy to bike for almost all day long on such a warm day. I'm happy they had there water bottles! The really best thing there was the music and me and all my friends dancing :D - Audrey xoxo :)

Tree project :)))

At the beginning of the tree project we had to take a picture of a tree in the back yard. Then we had to find infomation about the tree we choose. With all the information that we had we needed to to use an app called book creator.I really enjoy doing it.We had to do experiment with trees and test.we learned a lot about trees like different types coniferous tree oak tree birth tree and many more. The type of tree that I choose was a weeping willow.the types off experiment we did was measuring the height by the shadow, and the test were about trees how we could use then

Student Council

In my first month at Holland School, I had already gained the trust and respect of my classmates to be voted student council member. Being in the Student Council is a very responsible job; You have to be on time to meetings, help organize events ( like the upcoming Halloween dance ), and always report new ideas from my classmates. It's quite fun knowing that the responsibility of Holland is in my hands, along with my fellow members. Nothing could make my experience at Holland school better than being the new kid, and already being in the student council. I am amazed at the oppertunity that I have.

You can always count on me and Isabel Zuniga to bring your ideas forward to make them happen.

Looking forward to going to Camp Keno

I am looking forward to going to Camp Keno because my sister Anne-Marie went, and she said that it is really fun and that it was one of her favourite outings that she had attended at Holland. I hope that we do Canoing because I LOVE to go out in a river and go Canoing. I love sleep overs and we are sleeping over at Keno! Ialso liked the fundraising to go to Camp Keno because the more money you sell, the more prizes you get, and it is preparing you for the most awesome outing of your life! I am really exited to go to Camp Keno! Isabel Laroche

iPads

Something I really enjoyed so far is having the opportunity of having are own iPads in class. We need to be very carful not to drop theme because there worth a lot of money. We spend most of are time in class on our iPads, which I really enjoy. It's really easier and cleaner to write. My favourite app so far is probably notability, the reason why is because it's such a great way to organize your work. There's apps really helpful to learn. And the iPads make learning way more fun:).

Significant time first six weeks of school

My best moment yet well, there were quite a lot but it was REALLY fun seeing my buds again ! Playing football in the field and making some of the last memories of primary school ! To, going to bois de coulonge was a ton of fun too ! Searching for geocaches and my team came first... 6th grade is going too  a LOAD of fun !!!

First 6 weeks of school

My favourite thing so far was our buddy activity, when we had to take pictures of our buddy's favourite part in the playground. This was my favourite part because we had a chance to know more about them and at the same time we had fun knowing them and passing time with them. I know she likes playing on the grass and do acrobats, on the spider web and on the metal squares.

Geocaching = Fun

We went to Bois de Coulonge with Ms. Beatty’s class on September 24 during the morning. We wanted to practice for science, geography, as well as enjoy the fresh air and fun. First, we had to learn about triangulation, latitude and longitude and how to use a GPS unit. When we got there, we visited the park. Miss B told us the limits and we searched, as a class, to find the canister number 1. Our teacher also told us all of the remaining 9 canisters were in trees. When we were all done, we had to go back to the fountain. When we found one of the containers, we had to take a picture of the tree with someone’s I pad. Then, we had to take a token out of the container and take it along with us, while replacing the canister.

It was fun using the GPS units because they were new for some of us and they told us where to find the “treasure” which was kind of cool. Since we were working as a team (we worked with the people at our table) we had a certain amount of GPS units by group.  I also liked it because the place was pretty and it wasn’t a serious lesson. At the end, we had chocolate fingers! During the hunt, some of us say a wood pecker!

Alyson, from my class, says: “It was fun to be out with the class.”  Miss Bowles’ class did the same activity last week.
