Last November 22, over 60 customers enjoyed a delicious, homemade meal
carefully prepared by William-Alexandre Soucy (grade 6 student at Holland) and
his family.
For the past several years, William imagined different ways to raise
money for an organization called Deuil-Jeunesse. Deuil-Jeunesse provides counselling and help
for families who have lost a loved one.
This year, William wanted to raise more money than ever. He had the idea of turning his home into a
catering service for lunch, dinner, and take-out. On the menu:
pie! Turkey, salmon, and
shepherd’s pie + apple, sugar, or fruit pie!
William and his family baked 47 pies plus 20 squares of shepherd's pie. They
used 5 cabbages for the salad and 1 huge tub of ice cream!!!
William obtained donations of 25$ from IGA, 20$ from his grandmother,
and a turkey from Melanie Dolan (which turned into 8 pies).
William was pleased to offer a total of $963.40 to Deuil-Jeunesse. And the customers of William's
Bistro were
pleased to enjoy the tasty food!
