Almost everyone will go through it , boys and girls . No, not puberty . Way worse than that . A thing that CAN cause potential suicide . It is bad , it is surely mean ! And it is not at ALL funny . You guessed it .
Bullying . . . . . . .
This book was a great book . Not only was it a different kind of writing because it is antique ! And the features were GREAT ! Also because the meaning was actually MEANINGFUL ! It teached me a lesson but I will save that for the end !!
Meaning : as I was saying before the meaning of this book was nowhere hidden ! Actually every page was talking about it .The meaning was "bullying IS real and the risk of suicide in it is MORE than real"! The meaning of this story I said was not hidden because it was told in every page from the one the three boys " raped " Valerie micron and on ! In other words from page ~50 to the end where they reconciliated . This was an EXCELLENT meaning because some people in this world think bullying is not real ! And that has to change In this world . Thanks to Norma fox mazer I think every one who read this book became a bit of a better person only by reading this book !
Judgment: I have rarely seen a book as well written as this one and I ought to read the rest of her series if they as well written as this one ! I have nothing to approach to her writing except that she Could have made the characters description more detailed because I had a trouble making up there personalities and it is not until mid-way through the book that I made up their personalities completely . But at the same time it made my imagination work and tell me how it thought they were like what . (Ex: snotty , nice,freaky ) or any other personalitie ! It was too so well written that at the end I got so into it that I almost cried ! It was surely reached my expectancies or maybe even surpassed them by 100 miles each ! I have a feeling that I will have trouble for connections ! It is hard trying to find other books that are as well written as this one!
Features: in this book many features were used but I will name the ones that stood out the most !
Dual narrator: this one was the most outstanding feature in this book and too it made us see the victims point of view AND the aggressors point of view ! So at every chapter I had to ask myself over and over again . "Who is right" ? This specific feature made the story a whole lot different on their own ! It was , again , THE most outstanding feature!
1st person : this one was good because we could still stay in the book and know what was going on because when there is 1 NARRATOR the story can be hard to be along and still know what is going on! When it is first person like in that book you always know who is the main character . So that is something that make the story more enjoyable ,
Imagery: this one was a biggie too because she did not describe the character to much and I think she used this to make us invent the character almost THE way we wanted to make it but not completely because we knew the attitude of them like rollo was nice but was a guy that would go along with everything brig said . Candy was the athlete and the intelligent who knew how to get his two friends with him and brig was the nasty leader who was kind of evil and who was a troubleMAKER.
Connections: this part is the hardest because the kind of book Norma fox mazer did on that book is not always easily findable because it is a stand out kind of writing as well as she uses to make a piece of art but in writing ! The only thing I could think of is in real life because on the news and everywhere you hear about that and again people seem to think it is only a bunch of urban tales ! And I can not make a connection to myself because I never got bullied AND never raped anyone or bullied so it is hard to think of what it would feel like ... OH , I know ...

i highly recommend that book and it is for kids as well as for adults but adults might find it a bit short ! But if you are looking for a one-of-a-kind book ! You shall read .
